A welcome message from our Minister of Faith Formation Tracy Gormley

Welcome Parents!

We love the sound of kids in our service! God made kids wiggly and curious and we celebrate that here. Here are some ideas to keep them engaged.

Grab your Worship Toolbox: Boxes/bags are found at the back of the church & contain helpful tools for teaching your child how to worship. Coloring pages & clipboards are also available.

Sit Close: Consider sitting up front where it’s easier for kids to see. You are encouraged to utilize our prayground up front. It’s fun!

Explain: Kids are curious! Quietly explain what is happening in the service.

Participate: Kids learn by mimicking what you do. So sing, pray, respond etc.-kids will follow your lead.

Wander: It’s OK to move around. Sometimes kids need a chance to move their bodies.

Need to leave? No problem, but please come back!

Babies & Toddlers are welcome too! Quiet toys, board books & a rocking chair are available in the prayground.

Ask: Questions or need help? Just ask our ushers.

Children’s Ministry Information

The children’s ministry of Immanuel Congregational Church (Christian Kids!) has fun, grows together, learns about God and the Christian faith and makes the world a better place in a loving, affirming and safe environment.

Our Core Values that are woven into every lesson, group, program and event are

1) Love God

2) Love and care for all of God’s people including all races, all sexual orientations, all gender expressions and all abilities.

3) Serve our community and our world.

Our children’s faith formation program, Christian Kids, takes place on select Sunday morning at 10am from September through late May.

The children begin their experience in the worship service with their families, and kids PreK - 8th grade are invited to participate in our lively, fun and creative Christian Kids ministry following the children’s message. Families are encouraged to utilize the Prayground before Christian Kids sessions and on those Sundays when no formal session is offered.

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month, and children of all ages are invited to participate. Children and youth bring their offerings to worship through music, special readings, drama and other lively activities.

Please reach out with any questions!
